I don't get all the jokes, I don't tend to get 'dirty jokes' but I love it still. It's so unserious that anyone can feel a little more relaxed at the end of a stressful day. My oldest sister loves it, too. It's her personal favorite anime. Are you one of many or are you an only child?

Okay cool. I'll look it up. I have Crunchyroll, sad to say, but it's the only place that has Kaiju no 8. I can generally understand Japanese, so I can tell if the subs are off or not, except with weird accents like Hiroshima-ben or Okinawa-ben or the weird hyper masculine way some anime characters speak... But I do worry about them using Ai bullshit when humans are more accurate with Japanese to English. My reccs are probably too basic, mainstream stuff for anime. Things like Kaiju no 8, Gintama, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, etc. But for manga, it's a different story. Since I'm lucky to live near a well-funded library, that's what I'm used to. So if you're a manga reader, I have quite the list.

I'm glad you're looking to the future. With a healthy diet, you'll definitely have a lot to look forward to. New foods to experiment with. Who knows, maybe your change of habits will inspire your family, too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ As for my future... I just wanna hope ship back to Ireland where my work as an artist can actually pay. But that's a long time coming since there's a lot of legal hoops to jump through and I just don't make enough to even save money at all. I'm completely reliant on my oldest sister, whose hours were cut, and my mother who is an abusive cuntisaurus. If I could have my old career back, I'd be golden, but my current health problems can never allow it again. So I'm just doing what I can to survive, not really sure if I have a reason other than my sisters would never forgive me for leaving them behind after everything we went through.

Damn. That is rough. I'm sorry you're having to go through this pain. Is there anything that brings you some peace and joy despite the traumatic turmoil? :'(

Hmhm. Only a doctor could really look at the risk and benefit of a GLP-1 drug like Ozempic, but it can be a life-changing decision. As a comparison, my mother is on it. She's got diabetes, heart failure, and a host of other conditions and has benefitted from it, but only because I put her on a diet. It isn't super strict, but it's an outline to make sure she's not taking too much salt or sugar/carbs. If only I could do the same, but I only have so much money a month for food. Is there a way you can fight for custody for your brother? If your parents are legal conservators there may be a way to prove their neglect and abuse in a court that would give you conservatorship instead. But I am sure that sort of consult costs money to get... are you making it okay financial-wise? Is that a battle you'd be willing to fight?

Lol. I have four jobs and only two pay me. Patreon and my mother. I only make $220/mo. My brother doesn't pay me and neither does anyone else. They get to go on holidays, buy the things they need, and basically overall profit from my unpaid labor. I know things are tight for some of them, but they say things like "you should get a part-time job" when I have 0 time and health problems.~~~~ Damn, I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with that. Does he qualify for any sort of medical insurance? If he's got the risk factors for diabetes and heart disease, that Ozempic stuff could actually save his life. It's a drug that essentially changes the way your liver and pancreas handle insulin and process glucose. It does still take a lot of work, though. So I'm not sure how willing he is to make some changes. Is he willing to make some changes or is he really set in his ways?

Migraine is clearing up with the wildfire smoke. So I feel a little more cognitive today other than some potential nerve damage from running myself too much the last two days. I have no idea what dog clippers cost. I have $2 to my name for the rest of the month, so I couldn't afford them anyway. I'll just have to hope Kiki(the puppy) doesn't mind some human clippers or maybe an emory board to file them down a little. I don't have any dog treats at my house, so I'll have to see if she'll like carrot or hot dog enough to use that as a peace offering. Anyway, how is you? Hope you're doing better.
