Gabriel @gabriel_true Also like how Arius from DMC 2 is introduced as the next seasons villain along with bringing back Lucia.

I thought the villains intro was nice but the show lost me when they added civilian interaction. They should have just done a entire service about action with little to no words.

There was a good reason I held off on renewing my Netflix subscription. Something told me the Netflix adaptation of Devil May Cry was going to Trojan Horse some ideology about politics and it 100% did. Now I see why Reuben Langdon got told he couldn't reprise his role of Dante. Yeah, it was because of his personal beliefs not because he did anything genuinely wrong. Either way, I'm glad I slept on this the same as when I slept on the DMC game reboot! I stand by Dante's quote from the first game, "You have the face, but not [the] fire!"

Gabriel @gabriel_true Having side characters is one thing. It's using real world places and addressing a real life social justice issue with characters that are a poor representation of those people that I personally find to be the issue. Devil May Cry with exception of the remake (which also used real life issues with American capitalism and news outlets) has always used fictional places to tell its story. Even in 4 where they borrowed religious iconography from the Roman Catholic Church they made sure to make it distinctly its own thing. There was no turning to the camera to go, "Christian Churches, amirite?" like the remake did. Between that and the fact they specifically refused to hire Reuben Langdon after the writer for the show pressured him to say what his political views were before he could be hired for the show is discrimination against a person's beliefs. Something that the writer of the show claims to be against, yet he did that very thing before hiring Johnny Bosch, who played Nero in the games, to be Dante.
