Prostitutes/Escorts: Would you wouldn't you.

xynox
Nah, ty. I don't think prostitution will ever go out of fashion though. Oldest profession and all.

I don't see why it shouldn't be legal. If people want to, that's their call. Add in condoms and regular checkups and it's actually safer than a lot of casual sex encounters. With that said I can't see myself using one. Not nearly as fun if the lady is doing it for the money and not for me~

I wouldn't. That being said, As a profession I don't necessarily have a problem with it becoming a legal industry so long as it's regulated and as Blue said, the use of condoms and regular exams, etc., however, too much of the sex trade is saturated with people who have been abducted and forced into the trade. Here, the average age of abduction for the sex industry is 13.... the average age is 13. Meaning it goes under and over that age, but not overly over since it is so low. Then there are the stories from the people who are rescued from the life, what horrors they endured, how it was forced on them or against their will. Ultimately, they can always refuse and say no, but a lot of times when missing teens are never found it's because they said no, or tried to escape, or spoke to the cops. It's not always kids, it's just the stories I hear about most.

Pretty much what HumanoidS said, only instead it's more about paying for something I don't really want that much.

I've heard the same stories veru. It's a common practice in parts of Asian and Eastern Europe/Russia. However it happens plenty often here in the USA too. Usually with runaway teens but has happened to all types.

Am I the only one who would say yes to this? C'mon, especially you guys. Prostitution has been around for a long time, and it was partaken in vastly by the common people in old times. Albiet, in a way I don't agree with. In modern times we would have to set high and strict standards on prostitution. We would need to have thourough background checks on potential prostitutes to identify that everything is willing and okay on her end. Of course checks for STDs will be very strict and regulated for both prostitute and client. A woman would have to keep all the money she makes for herself and has the right to refuse service at any time. Why I think this is beneficial: Lots of sexually frustrated guys over time, can turn very nasty and hateful. With no outlet to indulge in, no one to engage with physically, they become distanced from society and humanity, and in some instances this can be dangerous Secondly, it allows men to indulge in fantasies that their partner wouldn't want to do. For example, there are some sexual activities I will not mention that a girlfriend might want to do. She might feel relief if she can just let her boyfriend vent it out on somebody she has control in choosing. Thirdly, once you have actual willing people in the business, the underground slave trade will suffer tremendously. A lot of feminists and people against prostitution don't realize this. Finally, it allows a person to explore their sexuality in a controlled environment. As long as it is safe sex and regulated, it's a healthy, beneficial activity for all those involved. I can go on and on. I'm really just curious if there is somebody that is against legalized prostitution here can post reasons why they think it should stay illegal.

Idk, Arc.. Germany has legalised prostitution and brothels for quite a while and while they have high standards in legal establishments, teen prostitution and human trafficking are a problem all the same. Rape and sexual assault rates didn't go down either.. A guy with a healthy set of morals wouldn't assault people no matter how sexually frustrated he gets.. A guy who doesn't have one.. Well, brothel legalisation won't change that for him either, Germany being an example of that. I do think it should be legalised anyway because as you said mentally healthy folks would have an outlet and could live out their fantasies but it won't have the positive effect on society that people sometimes seem to think it would have.

Nope, I'd never go for a prostitute. I'm just not interested in really casual sex with people I don't truly care about. I'm not a puritan, and I have nothing against the profession or people that use their services, but it's not for me.
