Flirting Fails: What's your story?

yaasshat
Ha! Simple for some? Not unless you flaunt money or go to frat parties... "If you build it, they will come." And that's all for now with my inane advice...hah...I always knew what to do, but I let my lack of confidence guide me. Flirting, dating and sex aren't rocket science...Women? That's another story...XD Funny thing is, you'll notice more flirting and opportunities when you're taken than you ever did while single. The main thing is, you just don't care and aren't gonna be guided by that little voice that used to shut you down and make you question EVERYTHING.

That's true. I find that in a lot of people who have trouble with the opposite gender, it's pretty much always a case of them being their own worst enemy

I once met someone at a school club meeting and we seemed to hit it off really well. I'm not terrific with names, but I promised I'd remember his next time, and he mine. A week passed, I saw him again, and greeted him enthusiastically with, "Hi, [name]! I told you I'd remember!" He didn't remember mine, and didn't seem to care much about me anymore after that. D:

@xueli, about the height thing, it's not so much all women are attracted to tall guys, it's that most women do not find very short guys attractive. We live in a society that praises height. Just think about the last wolverine movie. In the comics wolverine is a very short 5'3", but Hollywood ruined it by casting the same kind of tall beefcake they throw into every super hero movie. @yaasshat, I've noticed that same strange thing happen when I had a girlfriend. The anxiety and pressure to talk to other girls disappeared and I was able to talk with them openly. We are our own worst enemy when it comes to flirting.

There was this cute cosplay guy around my age my brother told me about after his visit to Malaysia. I was REALLY desperate that time so of course I took my chance and tried to get connected through facebook. His pictures were cute and after talking every day, I found out we really seemed to get along together, almost to the point where I wanted to confess, yet I couldn't find the courage. After talking about 3 or 4 months, I noticed something strange. Why did his friends called him "pretty" in a picture. Thinking it was a joke, I went to my brother and asked him about it. "Well, he really sounded like a guy so I don't think so". Relieved I started chatting with this guy again, until I actually found the right timing to ask about gender. "Of course I'm a girl lol" She said. I never talked to that person again after that, n still afraid to go to Malaysian cosplay cons.

@Aokikuri Once, to mess with me my friend sent me a photo of a cosplayer who cosplayed a character I thought was really cool! I was like, "Wow. That guy is kind of hot!" The character has facial hair and everything! D: Then my friend was like "It's a woman." D: I was like, "OMG SERIOUSLY?!" lol Hahahaha! You probably can't top this stupidity... But when I was younger... like A LOT younger (middle school.) I thought it would be cool to flirt with the lifeguard. So I was talking with them and decided I was going to be a cool kid, show off, and jump in the pool. D: Instead I almost drowned... D:< *facepalm* well. I got his attention all right but my dumb ass looked pretty awful! lol

My first year in college I had more guys hit on me than girls (like two vs none). That wouldn't be bad if I were into guys, but I don't find the same bits as I have exciting, not to mention I don't see how anyone can kiss a person with facial hair :( In the end I settled for the fact that at least someone found me attractive.

I have had those situations where a girl hit on me and I was totally oblivious. I hate it when that happens. Then someone later says that the girl liked me. THEY NEVER SAY IT WHEN YOU'RE THERE!!! lol I had a situation where I was in a bar where I tried to flirt with a girl and she just said F off. Honestly I just said fair enough and walked off. So rude.

I see that a lot of you guys have had a lot of problems and such For me it's kind of more the opposite ... I'm a really nice guy and really social so I don't find it hard talking to anyone. Wich sometimes comes over wrong for the other person and they then think they have a shot but ... I don't like a lot of people. Such as people that smoke, drink or overall look like they'd bang anyone in a 15m radius. A lot of friends also ask me for advice all the time. And apperently it helps them out bunches and I'm just sitting here being an eternal single guy .... for 11 years now >.>

My freshman year at Cal, I thought this guy Pat was cute. I used the lens of my camera to view him from a distance because it seemed like the best thing to do on a dorm-wide outing to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Ended up taking pictures of him with his boyfriend, which he thanked me for later. I received a turtle plush as compensation... but the net loss was hidden in my disappointed heart. No wonder he was really friendly with me. Pat was gay. I remain friends with him because we glossed over my attempts to flirt photographically with him. Cool guy.
