Flirting Fails: What's your story?

I'm extremely oblivious to people flirting with me if I'm not flirting with them. I.e. at the bar. I could be talking to a girl, and she could be flirting heavily with me, and I wouldn't know until a friends like.. dude, she was all over you. :/

It happened in my junior year of high school. I tried talking then flirting with a girl who I liked, only for me to find out she was only interested in the same sex. At least she was nice about it, so there were no hard feelings. I still feel embarrassed about it though because the way I tried to flirt was just pathetic.

So I saw this super cute girl in hot topic the other day (like knees weak palms sweaty cute) and I tried to walk over to talk to her and I fell over into a rack of clothes and hit my head on the bar and hurt my foot. Then she left. She managed not to notice my existence which was cool though.

Well you see there was this time I tried flirting with this girl who was all into anime and everything I soon realized that was me losing my mind being trapped in a chamber though it was only a companion cube and I had envisioned it to be the partner of my dreams.

I made cookies for an undersclassman friend I had. I think he liked me although he he was too young and I never asked him because I really did not want a relationship. Anyways I gave him the cookies as s goodbye gift because I was graduating. It turns out I broke his teeth braces because the cookies were too hard. I don't think it was flirting but it is a a fail

Went to Otakon as Slenderman; Character doesn't talk. Couldn't get the words out. Got phone numbers from women who preferred I stay in character if I call them. Don't know if they can tell by the silence that it's Slendy. lol

Idk if this is considered a flirting fail, but I was at Con Alt Delete 2016 and I went to the Maid Cafe and sat with a bunch of people and played games. The maid was this cute girl (I thought she was cute at least) named Yui and I was talking to her and I don't remember what we were talking about during her hosting of the table activity but I ended up saying without thinking "Aww You're cute" and she responded with "No no you are cute." She seemed like a fun person, but I am wondering if saying she is cute considered flirting or a compliment.
