Gabriel @gabriel_true Baa-baa black sheep?

Truck drivers are built different that's why, hehe! I'm glad you made it back from Arkansas safely. Was there anything noteworthy that occurred during your trip?
verucassault
@gabriel_true I hope this mentions Atlanta again. lol Well I finished my road trip. Drove 20+ hours in the last 3 days. I'm exhausted. I don't know how truckers do it.
verucassault
Veru @verucassault Oof just now saw this. It's redonk you don't get alerts when people quote comment. Ummm... my car lied and I ran out of gas in Alabama for 45 minutes but thankfully gas is an easier fix than a flat tire lol.
verucassault
Veru @verucassault I was 6 miles away from a station and leading up to that for 30 minutes all the stations were far off the highway. Anyway, I was an idiot. The worst part of the drive both ways was the first hour leaving Atlanta and entering Atlanta. It just sucks that much.
gabriel_true
Gabriel @gabriel_true Glad you were able to find gas. I've hiked 7 miles for fun, but never had to do it for an emergency breakdown, fortunately.

@gabriel_true Send me some trucking mojo. I need it. I have a long road trip coming up I'm dreading. What do you do on long drives?
gabriel_true
Gabriel @gabriel_true Pray! Pray I don't have a sudden case of the explosions! But I hope your trip goes well! Personally for long distances I try to line up rest areas or if I'm on my personal time I look for places of interest along the route to kill time or recover.
verucassault
Veru @verucassault Yeah. I have to do some stops or I'll go crazy. I haven't made this drive since I moved. Not looking forward to it.
gabriel_true
Gabriel @gabriel_true Where are you traveling to?
gabriel_true
Gabriel @gabriel_true I see Kansas wasn't good enough! Needed to add the Ar in there too? Humph! So what's going on in Arkansas? Admittedly I have never been there to know what's worth seeing?

Theirs a wholesome 80 year old ladies man who I work with at Kroger. His name is Mr.Bill and everyone loves him, he even marks down fresh food for customers. Guy has 7 kids and the best type of energy to be around.
gabriel_true
Gabriel @gabriel_true I think the Kroger I worked for had similar people too. Also had a sexy Italian woman with big hams who let me get her number and go on a couple dates.
joemama711
Daddy BigBack @joemama711 Lmao that's great memories and mammaries at least.

I have faith that the electrician career will suit you the best. I'm continuing to pray whatever you're passionate about leads to your future being bright! Godspeed!
joemama711
Im just gonna wait and see for the electrician aptitude test and results. Pass or fail I'm still getting another job, that kinda puts my mind at ease. @gabriel_true

Veru @verucassault We have a dead tree that clicks until you get near it and then it stops. Then clicks more when you pass. Wonder what kind of devil bug hides under its bark.

Facts. Working at Kroger was always a trip with what people thought was customer service. Had a customer ask me why the apples we carried were always trash going so far as to say they rather shop somewhere else. I looked that 40 year old woman right in the eyes at the bold age of 19 and told her there was a Martins literally across the street while pointing at it through the window behind us. The look of indignation on her face was priceless. Of course I got pulled into the office to get chewed out for not pleasing the customer and costing the store a whole $5 to make it up to the customer. Kroger would always give complaining customers $5 to say "sorry" whenever they were "wronged." I told my current store manager then that though the store lost $5 today I saved us a lifetime of frivolous complaints in the future as the woman never came back thank goodness. Or at least she avoided me. I also made a point that I had earned dozens of customer compliments within the same year.I told my store manager to consider it didn't make sense I would have a reputation for good customer service and suddenly be a bad employee. That maybe just maybe "the customer was in the wrong and I should be the one to get $5 for my time that was wasted?" I got my first write up in the 3 years working there for saying that, but I never got fired and I sure didn't regret my boldness. @verucassault @arc @joemama711

verucassault
Veru @verucassault I've done similar. I try to be courteous and nice but some people get a thrill out of public displays of power tripping so I tend to turn it into a game of chicken.
joemama711
Daddy BigBack @joemama711 So far I've just worked in Deli and Bakery. The people been chill so far and understanding but I didn't understand how much someone wanted when he said a 1/3 since I'm used to counting 1/4s. Unboxing stuff in the bakery is weird to me how the guy there knows how much they want out vs what the computer system says. It's very unorganized yet slow thankfully, it's just something for me right now
gabriel_true
Gabriel @gabriel_true Give it time... *ominous music plays*
joemama711
Daddy BigBack @joemama711 Eh I'm part time so I leave asap when it's my time. I ain't dedicated to no one, cides I said fuck going back to trucking school so I could go to another job if I wanted and quit my jobs rn
gabriel_true
Gabriel @gabriel_true You continued school or moved on to something else? I know many states are reducing the requirements for certification. In Virginia you only have to know 36 different parts of the vehicle as opposed to the 112 it used to be. The maneuvers are also only a set of 4. They are always the same exact 4. Front Bumper Stop, 100 Foot Straight Back, Front Offset, and Reverse Offset. As for over the road you have 8 turns total you have to clear without hitting the curve. 4 right turns and 4 left turns. Don't speed and read the road signs will guarantee you pass.
joemama711
Daddy BigBack @joemama711 I don't like the instructors there that I would have to deal with and I'm too old to be yelled at and to be told that " I'm supposed to know how to drive a semi truck and how it handles" after 4 weeks of backing practices so I just didn't go back, I'm gonna do something else, whatever it is at least I'll be home.
gabriel_true
I do it with every woman I meet on the first date, hehehe.
