You know what? It was fun at first but now... -_- This is the Nagase Review. (insert intro theme here) Ok. So, This weeks topic is Dark Souls. Before you ask "Bro. Do you even Demon Souls?", let me answer that for you. No. The answer is no. I'm really just not interested in it. The "Souls games" are pretty to look at, the comdat system is neat, the characters are interesting, going through each area is like playing a REALLY gritty version of a (somewhat) open worlded Lord of the Rings game and...they're boring. -_- Irritatingly so. Now I'd like to take this time to answer a few questions. Yes, I've played Dark Souls. No. I haven't beaten any of them. Why? Because they can't keep my attention. Why do I think the Souls games are boring? Surpisingly, it's not the die die and die some more game play or the stick, move, repeat style of fighting that one does in nearly every boss fight. My personal feelings of boredom are (in particular order) The depressing feel The "go around and do stuff till story happens" aspect Repetition "Dudes in armor" (fuck dudes in armor) Undead aka zombies Everytime I find a new area, I quickly get tired of it. Why? Because dudes in armor and zombies. It's always just more of the same except for the bosses. If the enemies could hold conversations with each other, In every single area of the Souls game world, I'd imagine most of them would turn out like this: "Hey, Zombie B. See that guy over there? He looks like He's having trouble with that dude in armor. Let's call Zombies C through Q over shit stomp that guys brains in then get all the other armored dudes to come biss on his corps for a laugh." to which Zombie B says "We just did that 2 minutes ago." "What? You think it's getting old?" says Zombie A to which Zombie B replies " Hell no! Let's pound 'em brother!" I have no problem with dying over and over again. It's what people who play video games do. But, when a game advretises that the fact that you will die countless times it's really hard to keep my interest. What's that yousay? "Git Good?" Fuck off...! I'm gonna go play somthing that won't put me to sleep. Like Monster hunter or Project DIVA F. Later.

I saw the MH Cross trailer and i teared up a little, it was so great that the hype got to me. I really do hope they localize it. Oh and i tend to use every weapon but if i had to pick my favorite two they would be charge blade and Lance.

It is rather funny. It has multiple endings which kinda promotes multiple playthroughs if you care about that kinda thing. The puzzle solving gameplay is nice though. Deep satisfaction in completing a level. The story does round out nicely though. The question isn't weather or not to buy, it's why you didn't buy it sooner. Sad to think this sat on my shelf for a bit...
