What do you like doing at anime conventions?

arc
When you go to an anime convention, what kind of goals do you have in mind? What do you usually do?
arc
Also if you want, post about any con experiences you have. I'm curious what other people like doing at cons.

I just got back from MomoCon. I haven't been to an anime convention in years. This was my first time going alone so I was kind of worried about what to do. I ended up getting to talk with the voice actors of Stark and Fern from Frieren. Jordan Dash Cruze likes WWE so I asked him if Frieren signed up Stark for a WWE match against an arcane golem, what would his stage name be. He got really excited and said, "Big Starky" and Jill Harris said that Fern would be supportive of stark during the match but have no idea what's going on. I also talked to the English VA for Asuka from Evangelion for a good amount of time. I told her my childhood experience about hearing Asuka say a line in english and then rattle off some german, thinking it was so cool as a kid and how she was my favorite character in the show. She was happy about that and told me all these behind the scenes things that happened while voicing for the show. She signed a tumbler I bought at her counter and put in a quote on it too. She's really nice. Apart from seeing the Smash bros tourney and hitting up the arcade, I made a big point to FORCE myself to talk to people. It's bitterly against my introverted nature. But there I was, standing in line after line talking to VTubers. It was so very painful for me dragging my feet in fear of the next VTuber booth but I actually got used to it towards the end and clicked with some of the VTubers. For me, cons are a way for me to not fall into extreme introversion of not talking to strangers. I had a lot of fun this year.

I mainly go for cosplay and getting parts of my collection autographed. I also bring stuff for my friends when they can't come with me. It was my first time at Collect a Con Orlando. Probably the smallest scale con I've gone to, but still lots of fun. Only TCG card seller there and hardly anyone in Cosplay, but a great small selection of celebrity guests and panels. Plus I got to hear Jason Paige sing the anthem of my childhood, the Pokémon theme song.

Man... It's been FOREVER since I went to a con...almost twenty years... Damn I'm getting old.lol The best time I had was when I cosplayed. You think you're introverted? Ha! Join the club.lol However, it's a different experience when you're getting stopped every five seconds for a picture(I was a troll shaman from WOW. Bald cap, tusks, teal body paint 'n all.) The bad part when cosplaying is you don't truly get to just blend in and enjoy, but then I do believe that's the point. Even had a construction worker stop his work to comment and ask what's going on.lol Otakon 2008, when it was held in the Baltimore inner harbor and had about 30,000 people.

i tend to stay in the artist alley & video game section. I do love the cosplays & some of the panels & concerts but the best is the rave & afterparties. i def still have pics of the last time i went on in my profile

I thought I wasn't feeling up to cosplaying this year but I regret not taking my cosplay stuff. I'll do it next time. I also really wanted to go to the after party rave but tickets sold out way too fast.
