@bob_loblaw Honestly, the Zanpakuto arc is pretty awesome, and there have been funny episodes sprinkled about more frequently. Ep 263 with Zabimaru and Senbonzakura had us howling. Apparently, Arc missed the last part of those seasons so we are getting to watch them together.

I honestly hate filler. I never liked bleach and naruto for that same reason. Mid fight they show some random useless backstory that has nothing to do with the fight. This is why black clover trumps all the big anime they do filler between fights and major arcs.

@hell_hound7 Agree. Naruto lost me during Neji's fight. The moment a character had a flashback within another character's flashback I couldn't take it anymore. - Bleach was simply tiring because the second arc felt like a carbon copy of the first, but less interesting. The random unrelated episodes that took place in a separate universe didn't help either. - Both N and B peaked with their first season. Randomly they introduced a cool character or fight, but everything surrounding the plot carried no major impact for me. I got tired of hearing the main cast's backstory for the 100th time.

Gabriel @gabriel_true The thing is, Naruto wasn't supposed to be that serious at the beginning, if you check the first 20-30 episodes or so, you'll notice that it's just a very normal carefree anime with some plot here and there being hidden to add to the characters background, problem is, it went too far, it tried to go beyond and beyond every 50 or so episodes, specially on Shippuden where the world building and lore caught up to the author

The story of the 2nd arc in Bleach is absolutely nothing like the 1st arc. It's not even close. And of the 42 episodes total of the 2nd arc, there are literally only 2 filler episodes. Are you sure it was Bleach you were watching? I agree the constant flashbacks mid-fight in series like Bleach and One Piece can be exhausting and annoying, but they're not filler. That would just be the overused mechanic in most shounen anime. Even series like Kuroko no Basket with 3 seasons has flashbacks in the middle of the games they're playing. Aside from actual filler, it's the thing I hate most with shounen anime. Bleach might be the worst offender with filler episodes and arcs. There are 366 episodes total. 164 of them are filler episodes, and I'd say 90% of them are complete trash.
