That has always been the case for Social Media for years now honestly. Most of peoples self-esteem becomes entirely dependent on Social-Media and whether or not they get positive feedback from it. I think definitely it's destroying young women the most. I see so many young girls who can't go a day without posting... It's like Social-Media has become a major part of their personalities.
