My mom was on welfare when we were young and picked herself up to get off it. Social programs are good when not abused. I also know people that collect disability for stupid shit.

I agree that handouts can make people lazy.

@reisenpai66 do you have any research to back this up? because from what iv seen the vast majority of people on welfare get off of it when they can

Mostly anecdotal but do we have proof that racist white people are preventing blacks from getting a job? Lol

no one said it was racist whites, its more likely environmental issues like poorer educational opportunities

I agree with generational wealth to a point but I know a lot of whites that grew up poor and made it. Again from my anecdotal experience, the blacks in school acted too cool for school and fucked off. Public school is free . not sure where the missed opportunity is.

again, no one said that whites dont grow up poor lol there is undeniably a wealth disparity problem in American in general, but its black people that disproportionally makeup those numbers
just wanted to clarify that that's why the ubi was centering around the black community in that town, because they were disproportionally impoverished
i don't like the idea that some white families were also extremely poor and were overlooked, but the goal wasn't to lift individuals, but a community of people. you can say was unfair of ignore individuals, but imo it seems fine enough to me.
it does suck that poor whites can be overlooked by certain people, and everyone whos poor needs help, but i also don't discourage people wanting to lift specific historically marginalized communities up as well.
