What is the best way to get past something (someone) that you know won't go anywhere? Holiday blues getting to me haha lack of sleep from my four month old baby girl isn't helping.

Well, if you've been talking with this person for awhile and came to that determination, ask yourself two questions, do I enjoy there company? can I stand being a friend? I wouldn't advise dwelling on what could been/could have been with the person, for your sanity's sake. if you enjoy there company then why not keep them as a friend.
I hope you feel better, holidays typically cause depression.
I Prescribe, a slice of life anime with a mug of hot chocolate.

Sometimes you need to experience something different, like a new hobby, to get over someone. Doing the same old thing that reminds you of him/her will just continue to hurt you. If you distance yourself, you'll feel a lot more rejuvenated!
Otherwise, time is the best healer. Even if you can't shake it now, your wounds will inevitably be healed over time. Wish there was a faster method, but the heart is a complex thing >.<

Surround yourself with friends who may be in the same boat, or who don't have anyone to be around. Although I understand how hard it may be to get people over when you have a kid at that age. (It's something a few of my friends struggle with.) But as someone who's a master of getting himself into love triangles, I find myself on the loosing end quite often. Generally, my process is; take a step back, meditate and confront everything a little bit at a time, resolve the turmoils and issues I may have with the outcome internally so I don't have to keep any emotional scars, then just let it heal, and contemplate how this changed me as a person. That's when you bring the friends in for an anime benge night, if you can get them in. Odds are, there are others who don't wanna be alone for the holidays.
