Don't eat ice cream and then drink beer afterwards. The sweetness of the ice cream lingers on your tongue so when you drink beer all you can taste is awful bitterness

Not so! Try a beer float. Guinness and vanilla ice cream. First time I had one was at Red Robin and they are pretty good. It's all in the types you're mixing, sorta like not all soda tastes the same. I mean, I wouldn't mix grape soda and coffee ice cream like I would root beer and vanilla ice cream. They're both sodas and ice creams, right?
