I'd say that persons can change. I know a hand full of people that made a U turn because they wanted to. But getting someone to change. That 's really hard. And I notice it with myself. If I want to change something fundamentally about me, I have to get a away from my daily surroundings / habits, to be able to focus on something new.
People change all the time. Introduce the right stimulus and they grow, learn, and adapt. In five years you will likely abandon and adopt various habits, ideas, and beliefs, and in ten you will abandon many of those and adopt others, and so on. We change bit by bit, tiny piece by tiny piece, and so when we watch we hardly notice it, but if you don't see someone for twenty years and then meet them again you'd probably see the difference. Sure we might have things that never change about us, parts of us we don't abandon because we never feel we have to or want to, but its not as though humans are naturally static creatures.
I hope people can change. I've been trying for 2 years with little success but I think it's mainly because I've been doing the wrong things and making excuses so I don't have to do the right ones. I heard somewhere that people try and stick to what they're used to, which is why people sabotage themselves, but can fight it and become the person they want to be. I suppose all you can do is keep trying to reach the lofty goal of becoming the person you want to be, regardless of how difficult it can seem at times. You have to keep looking for the light at the end of the tunnel, or so I've been told, and eventually you can do it
If someone sees no disadvantages in their behaviour that person doesn´t change
they cant change for anyone but themselves
And I notice it with myself. If I want to change something fundamentally about me, I have to get a away from my daily surroundings / habits, to be able to focus on something new.
