Why should we keep living? :)

monch21
You see, its a universal question some of us have or may have. I would like to know your opinions, this way we may help others and spread positivity. Here is my opinion... We should keep living because we can have a happy life if we work hard, watch more anime, eat delicious food, and other great things. If you are a lonely person, entertainment is your savior, if things arent great just wait for that storm to be over, there is never always "bad luck", but also "good luck". Have pride, but as always not too much, try diferent things, and remember that if someone tells you to change, only you will decide that change. Do what you love but also help society with a "real job", that way your life wont be that "dead" and have money for personal enjoyment. You know how to love when you love yourself first. Be happy with yourself ;)

That's a very personal question; with as many answers as there are stars in the sky. For me, I live because there is still joy and happiness out there to be had, and no matter what torment I may suffer for a season, it's worth hanging in there if it means even one minute of true bliss. Sappy answer, sure, but you guys can bite me if you don't like it. :P

Shawnji, That's exactly my view on life. There are way too many joys in life that I've yet to of experienced. I used to suffer from some pretty severe depression (Chemical imbalances for the win!XD) and it was a constant thing to always feel like crap day in and out. I remember waking up one night after feeling like I've had enough and couldn't take the constant weight that no one else could feel as I did. I woke up, wrote a note to my family and headed towards my dad's shotgun. Then, I had an epiphany. I thought, how could I give up when I know that life has so much to offer. For me, I needed to actually push myself in order to see that things aren't always as they seem. Luckily, my depression has since gotten better, even though I still most certainly have my weak moments. I've had/am having hardships, but I know that I'm in control of my happiness even if the world goes to shit. There are so many strengths that I have gained because of my past pain and I want to keep going for even those brief moments of joy. Life is beautiful, even if in an abstract kind of way at times.

We should keep on living because we have already found meaning in it; in our own ways. We have crafted and built things to settle down with, met people to spend our lives with or maybe just continue looking for them. It would be a shame to discard something once it becomes meaningful. And its obvious that with the current trends, we are progressing forward as humans. We are discovering new and exciting things, making our lives technologically better (but ofcourse, it also has its downsides to it ) ..wouldnt you want to see how this trend continues? or better--wouldnt you like to know the ultimatum? I for one, am extremely curious to know. Revolutionary things have happened, history has been re-written many times. I'm excited to see more. To die, is to shut down this curious consciousness that we have. There is most likely nothing on the other side; wouldnt you rather be continously stimulated than be shut-down for eternity? Atleast sleep is a temporary surrender, we can wakeup to continue. But death is just a perpetual void from which there is no return. The possibilities remain endless only if you choose to continue living. Thus, a lust for life is an essential part of what makes us human.

What keeps me going is I plan on pissing on my dad's grave someday, but after that we'll see how things go.
