I'd sooner eat a bullet than get a tattoo, especially an anime one.

lol neet XD Your comment is so negative but I couldn't help but laugh from it. I think anime tattoos are taboo, especially if you are a man. Myself, I'd never get an anime tattoo. Anime is still a topic you have to be careful about flaunting in our American society.

Anything from Studio Gibli though is A-Okay in my book, and maybe Berserk, Ghost in a shell, Cowboy Beepop; but anything else may be interpreted as tacky. I dont have any tats, my partner wont allow it.
