Does anyone know if you can block a profile on MO ?

A block feature has yet to be introduced to MO. So far you can report people's posts to the moderators and set your age below 18 to keep random people from posting on your wall but that's about it I think.

Blocking stalkers and creeps from harassing you has nothing to do with 'freedom of speech'. People can say whatever they want, but there's no law forcing you to listen to what they have to say if you don't want to. simply put 'freedom of speech' does not give anyone the right to harass you, and it's moronic to not have a feature to block other people on this site.

I'm not sure what kind of blocking you're thinking of Elder_Reaper, but when I say you should have the right to block someone I mean block them from sending you messages and 'maybe' posting on your profile page. Same as if someone is calling your phone at weird hours or hanging up once you pick up you should be able to block them from calling you. If you two are having some sort of argument, even if you think you're right and have things you want to tell them you can't just force them to pick up the phone and listen to you. They have the right to hang up whenever they want and unplug their phone if they so decide to. blocking a specific phone number prevents them from having to block everyone else at the same time too. All I'm saying is people should have the ability to do that online too.

Sending someone messages can only happen if they're friends with you. As far as profile posting, its free speech same as if I speak in a public forum. You're on the internet and unlike a phone call its a public place , you don't like how someone talks to you, get off the site if you can't deal with it.

We shouldn't have to get off of the site just because someone is bothering us. We should still be able to use the site and have our own fun without dealing with people that just won't leave you alone. Free speech is fine but if they're just bothering you to start something on purpose, yes I do believe we should be able to block that person. We shouldn't have to hide public access to our walls since I do believe the vast majority here are decent people who do not want to stir up trouble. Long story short: Not everyone can be reasoned with or want to be reasoned with so a way to block others would be nice to move on and continue having our fun here.
