Serious amount of prudish people here...

vampire_neko
Most of the people I have known from conventions or here and in the scene in general usually fall into one of certain categories: 1. The more usual party going (mostly) teens you are into having fun, drugs and sex in various quantities. 2. People with various levels of social anxiety or other personality disorders that only feel comfortable in certain settings like conventions and such, neet's and others. 3. People (often in category 2), that are demisexual or asexual or just not sexually experienced who have various types of sexual/social anxieties.

I fall into number 2, but I'm still not worried about talking about sex/sexual anything/doing anything sexual. Talking about it pervertedly and being "ermergerd sex ew no!" In rl is just.. annoying. If you're asexual or whatever, fine, but if you're one of them "ooh I'm waiting til marrage, sex is icky, but I'll go on forever about it online" it's aggravating and hypocritical.

For the people more into 2d where actual sex doesn't matter as much, the advantage to being a virgin is that you don't know what you are missing so it's easier. Once you have tasted the forbidden fruit, nothing is ever as sweet.

Why can't people just have an interest in anime and not be categorized as something other than normal by others?
neet_one
More often than not I think it's people who categorize themselves out of some desire to fit in. It's easier to find people you can relate to when you give yourself a label and conform to a group. It's really perfectly natural to want that sense of belonging. Even non-conformists tend to conform to whats generally to other non-conformists. Normal is just what is average for the group you choose to belong to, there's no such thing as a universal norm. Just my thoughts on the matter anyway.

Then they either have a low sex drive or aren't doing it right. If it wasn't worth the effort than the human race would have died out long ago. Pretty much. Also I have noticed a lot of negativity by more mainstream type people to the anime fanbase subculture.

"claim it's overrated, short, tiring, uncomfortable, and not worth the effort." Cums quickly, not in the best of shape, doing it wrong, and totally wrong. In that order
