Nah, real girls > anime girls. Yes, I'll admit, I did have a crush on some of them before... But I just can't imagine choosing them over real ones. Sure a lot of them are cute and beautiful, with wonderful personalities, but so are a lot of real girls. The two just aren't comparable, it's hard to explain. You can change an anime girl's looks, personality, etc. into the perfect one for you, but you can't do that to a real girl, and that's what I like about them. Most of the popular anime girls are pretty darn powerful. One mistake and you're fucked. That's a scary thought... Then again, real girls can lead to real problems. Some real girls can be a real pain in the ass.

So in my experience, I have found that I like the anime and 2d girls for one reason, they are fantasy. They fulfill my need for that sort of thing because they can be perfect(or should I say my ideal?). No 3d thing can be perfect, there is always something that is off. In a way, that imperfection is what makes things perfect, but It is not the same. So I can have my fantasy, and be quite happy with it, but it cannot fully fulfill me emotional, physical, and mental needs. Realistically I would appreciate it if understanding people was as easy as it seems to be in anime, but I have a hard time with that. I have found how to use certain ideas from anime and change them to apply to my life. But in the end, as much as I would like it if real girls were like anime girls (in more than one aspect) real is what I've got available. Also the only way to fulfill all my needs is real. As for people in general, understanding the difference between fantasy and real will help. As for being dumped like that, that sucks, and obviously something didn't match between you two. I wonder if there was a way for you to keep together, be it through better communication or what, but no sense in worrying about that now. I just wish I could make sense of people better, but that would probabaly take the fun out of it.
