How do you get new anime friends? When all the one's you know are no longer there?
animeclass101 @animeclass101
All my friends are not into anime like before. They are either married or have kids or are in the military. I am close to my mid twenties and it is getting hard to have friends who like anime where i live in chicago illinois. Any suggestions, that can be given or anything to get new anime friends? To hang out with?

Go to ACEN and Anime Midwest and meet people there and see if you can find anyone local to hang out. But otherwise that's always the issue, the older you get, the harder it is to find people. I'm more into anime than any of my friends who don't really hang out anyway, even the younger ones. I'm even more into anime than my ex gf who got me into going to conventions in the first place, lol (and she was 18 and I was 32 when we started dating) she likes to cosplay but is more into video games. I don't have any friends but people on here who share my passion.

Cons
Online places like this
And traveling to a place anime is more widely accepted.
From experience location is a big issue...Parts in texas go nuts over anime while here in Cali i can't find any unless i travel a min of 2hrs. The upside is Attack on Titan in itself has been turning some of my friends into Otaku. Conversion is a tiddeous task but making otaku friends is always an option too ;)
...I feel villainous for having those thoughts O.o
i should practice my laugh...Muhahahaha *cough* *cough* little rusty on my evil deeds laugh...

Seems like L.A. and San Diego have the highest concentration of Otaku's from what I've heard. What places are big in Texas?

Game shops are a good option. Another thing is to check out whatever college is local, they often have anime clubs.

i have the same problem. all my friends have moved on with their lives and they were the ones who me into anime. so now we dont have anything to talk about. i've been in texas little over 2years now and i havent made any friends. but i've always had trouble with that. my advice would to go to conventions. you'd obviously be around people with similar interests and maybe you'll meet someone that way....thats what i've been doing.
