Any anime you've seen the first episode that you initially weren't gonna watch but you gave it a chance
argent4
Argent @argent4 Do you mean this season so far or in general? I usually give anything that seems interesting at least three episodes.

Argent @argent4 It’s been delayed until next year, right? Just a tiny little extra time to maintain those top-tier production values!
godspell
godspell @godspell Yeah probably I'm just feel so close to watch a beautiful manga be turn into a masterpiece. Bc it has the most horrific depiction of magic

godspell @godspell Also get ready for the sadness to come with the two volume series of alien trying to bring happiness to humans and he comes across a bullied girl
argent4
Argent @argent4 Oh man. I’m watching it, but having read the manga beforehand, I’m kind of annoyed that the anime adaptation looks so good! I really didn’t like the manga’s ending. These cruel things aren’t that far from the reality some people live, so I don't know how to feel about how this story shows the only solution was to erase all the problems with magic. Takopii died doing what he did best: completely failing to understand humans.
godspell
godspell @godspell I'm wondering how it'll adapt the series. It was only 2 volumes is that enough for 12 episodes or have you heard it'll be a short series? Because they could be working with the author to expand on the story even more.
godspell
godspell @godspell Its one of the few series I'm interested in besides GACHIAKUTA, Mizu Zokusei no Mahoutsukai Daiichibu, Tougen aniki,, and the summer Hikaru died (I really hope that horror is good)
argent4
Argent @argent4 It's going to be 6 episodes, each around 40 minutes long. I think the first episode covered three chapters of the manga? I hope they fix the pacing issues the manga had but I doubt they'll change much of the story.
godspell
godspell @godspell Well animations can either make the pacing terrible or fix the issues. Has always been the beauty of anime to fix those issues or make them worse. I've been enjoying watching people reaction to the series. It's fun to watch people shocked or resonate how you feel watching it
godspell
godspell @godspell The author made ichinose family's deadly sins much longer series. But I think he still has pacing issues plus the twists started to act up too much
argent4
Argent @argent4 Is that so? I think this season is packed with great continuations. I'm looking forward to the second seasons of Dandadan and Grand Blue. I'm also planning to watch Hikanatsu, I read a bit of the manga and liked it, though I lost track of it. Other than that I'm thinking of watching Ruri no Houseki, Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara, and maybe the new Panty & Stocking and that horror cat anime.
argent4
Argent @argent4 Oh, also, the second Xiao Hei movie is coming out this month! I'm really looking forward to it!
godspell
godspell @godspell Hope you have fun at the movies dress up for it lol I haven't seen dandandan just read it so far. Grand blue something my brother has been looking forward to for a long time. I forgot about the night of the living cats. Wouldn't you want to be a cat zombie

Suffering in the meana of? Suffering boredom and bad writing not, suffering characters in a show yes. Well I wouldn't say, Anne Shirley is for you... It's just rushed and has a terrible art style.
argent4
Argent @argent4 The anime adaptation only has one episode out so far, but based on how the manga went, I’d say it will bring both kinds of suffering. First, the characters suffer. Then the viewer suffers, too, but from how fast and messy the plot becomes. The ending is kinda frustrating, the solution it offers to all the serious themes it explores boilds down to literal magic and friendship. Dunno, the first part is a strong look at dysfunctional family dynamics and cruelty, but then it gets rushed, and everything that follows loses its impact.

godspell @godspell Finally out with 2 episodes
argent4
Argent @argent4 Damn. Every time I'm introduced to something like this I have to do the math to see if I can realistically fit it into my lifespan. Web novels are massive! But thank you, Mr. Godspell, I'll check it out.
godspell
godspell @godspell You will be lost in the first episode. Beautifully animated and incredible eldritch horrors.

Haven't planned yet, is it good? Have you watched Anne Shirley yet? I hate its artstyle and it's rushed compared to the original Akage no Anne, but still... Better than Lazarus and Witch Watch.
argent4
Argent @argent4 I have not. I liked the first anime adaptation, but I usually struggle with remakes or retellings unless they fix anime-original endings or they cover all of the source material, like FMA Brotherhood or the new Spice and Wolf. Is this one worth watching?
argent4
Argent @argent4 As for Takopii, hm, it depends, do you like suffering? If so, then maybe it will appeal to you.

Also, the show has some terrible plot holes. And with Skinner doing almost nothing, being a very dull antagonist and so on...
argent4
Argent @argent4 Yep, Skinner was one of these wasted side characters. They could have done something really interesting by exploring more of his past and what led to the creation of Hapna, it would have made the endind a bit better, too. Hell, there was even an AI modeled after him in that tech cult, but he played such a minor role in the series that it barely made any sense. I wonder if the anime was planned as a one-cour from the start, a lot of those plot holes seem like the result of not having enough time to resolve all the storylines.
argent4
Argent @argent4 Oh, by the way, are you watching or planning to watch Takopii no Genzai? That's another story that really suffers from being cut too short. It's such a shame because the first half of the manga is great. I'm even a bit mad after watching the first episode, it was really good!

I remember that scene. They were walking, but barely moved. XD Hard to say how I would have improved it... The base idea is very generic and boring, the fighting scenes are unrealistic, the characters are flat, their backgroundstories have no relevance, the villain was introduced way too late, without hint... Probably by putting more effort into building up the other plots/characters and giving the characters more depth/relevance and by connecting the plots.

Just finished Lazarus and... The end made the already poorly-written Anime yet worse. The characters were so flat and forgettable, the action scenes were dumb, especially when deadly injured Axel easily defeated his assassin and Skinner was just a magician. Besides, the assassin side plot had nothing to do with the rest of the story... But it had a cool opening ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
argent4
Argent @argent4 Yeah, Lazarus has a lot of problems. Though, even if the story was bad, I think the anime could have been okay if it had been executed better. Most of the episodes felt like filler, just exposition dumps about the character's backstories, so all the real development was crammed into the few final episodes. That made everything rushed and superficial. They introduced the main antagonist 4 episodes bofere the end, and the entire conspiracy plot was wrapped up in just two episodes. It really makes you wonder what was the point of anything that happened before that. I agree that the main characters ended up feeling pretty one-dimensional. They were basically the same before and after their backstories were resolved. Meanwhile, some side character were completely wasted due to poor writing and pacing. Personally, I think the anime would've been much better if it had hinted at the government conspiracy from the start and introduced Soryu on the earlier episodes, maybe as an assassing targeting Axel for mysterious reasons and interfering with Lazaru's plans a few times. Is there anything you think could have made this anime better?
argent4
Argent @argent4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaQZpHz4q-Y And this scene, this damn walking scene, it's seriously the worst moment in the entire series. I couldn't help but notice these people walking and walking, and somehow barely moving forward XD
