If tomorrow earth was struck my an asteroid. The same size as the one that wiped out the dinosaurs. It would most definitely be the extinction of the human race. I preferably would want to be at ground zero. The velocity at impact would be so great that pain receptors would not be fast enough to capture any pain. Anyone at impact would be instantly vaporized. One moment you're there and another moment you're not. Gone in less than a blink of an eye. A painless death in the apocalypse. Much better than the alternative. Slow painful death to the extinction of every last human on earth.
