I think the reason you posted this is to ask the age old question regarding the spectrum between logic and emotion. Some people may seem heartless because they do/don't do something they feel is right though quantitative means over qualitative means, and vice versa.
I personally think I'm somewhere in the middle. I'd like to say I'm very logical and that I believe I have pure intentions, but I know some of the things I do/say can be misconstrued. For instance, I may not see the importance in some things others may be emotionally attached to - That's not to say I don't have my own emotional attachments to people and things though. I wouldn't go as far to say I'm 'heartless', but I definitely could see a lack of sympathy as an argument towards some interactions that other's may occur with me.
We all have varying degrees of sensitivities on the logic/emotion spectrum. I wouldn't fault someone for being biased towards one or the other. Everyone's a little bit different, and we should respect that. If people you met aren't on your side of the spectrum and you don't get along with them, try to understand them or simply let them be. Don't demean them just because of their different ideologies.

Journey of the Cursed King! Yes it's also one of my #1's, tied only with XI (which English version comes out later this year). ^^ In my drawings the top guy is my huge crush: Ladja-san from V. The Valentine's pic has Hargon-kun and Zoma-sama from II and III respectively. And the sprite guy is Fractos-sama from DQ Heroes II (a spinoff game). :3 I drew Fractos-sama for a friend cause she loves him lol He's got a voice a personality a bit like Hexxus of Ferngully (if you know who that is)
