I just got finished watching "In this Corner of the World" and I was confused by the last scenes. Suzu and Shusaku are speaking where they met when she begins daydreaming of the kidnapping monster and crocodile, then it switches to the mother and child. Several times during the film Suzu mentions how she day dreams or spaces out, seeing things like ghosts and monsters,and can't remember this thing or that, to the extent that she thinks the life she's leading may be a dream. Is that last scene her actually waking up from her dream? Was the whole movie the fantasies of a dying woman? I can't find anyone else on the internet asking that. Tell me what you think.
