You learn a lot from your experiences with people. It's just more personal when you're dating or friends. I've had 2 really bad times where I had trouble getting over an ex (one of those is still current -.-||| ). The first one took me several years to realize I just liked being friends with my ex and we worked better in that capacity since I would always talk with him about my problems or to just talk and laugh about stupid stuff and have some intellectual conversations. I'm just now trying to work on backing off from the most recent ex that I felt deeply attached and in love with since I worked really hard on making our relationship better but he didn't want to continue working with me and is being difficult in different other ways. I understand the feeling of being different and people not exactly being on your side, causing you to feel alone. My reasons are not really similar, though, to those discussed already and some of them are more personal than I'd like to share.

Hey all just wanted to make my first thread here since I'm still relatively new to the site but just wanted to put it out there that I am indeed for making many new friends here and if you have any questions including relationship advice I do not mind answering these questions to the best o f my abilities. I can understand that pain. I myself had a 4 year long relationship and we were even engaged but then things took a turn for the worst. No matter how hard I tried to fix things she just started treating me more and more like a stranger and I was quite distraught. She broke everything off and then moved on to be with her ex not a month later. Trust me at first it is really hard to pick yourself up but you must. Live will continue on and you must find out what you need and what is good for you. You don't have to do this alone though I am sure you have friends and loved ones that can be there for you and help you stand once again. To trust another person again will also take some time but I am sure you will find someone whom will take the time and have the patience to help you open your heart up again once more.
