I think we all have friends who are fun to hang out with but we don't really talk on deeper levels and only hang out when it's convenient for us. However, for the most part, I'm always there for when my friends need me even if we don't always talk or hang out. I guess a good example is that when my friend was going through a mental breakdown I let him stay at my apartment and I helped him through it, since I too suffer from dysthymia, and just wanted him to know that regardless of his depression he has ways he can get through it and that he doesn't have to go through it alone.
