Friendships usually die after awhile for me. The longest friendship I had was with my childhood friend and still going. It's been 12 years now. He wasn't my first friend but he's always the last one there especially when I'm in need. I've learned to be wise because of him. In my contacts, I have family (I count childhood friend as family), instructors from college, and these few "friends". I hardly speak to them though. Most of the time they say they are busy but I normally call bullshit on that since I know a lot about them and know their personality pretty well. Ever since they got themselves a BF/GF, I pretty much don't exist or hardly exist anymore. Once their significant other are absent or their life becomes dull, I suddenly exist again but only for a short period. My childhood friend never done that, even having a GF and a job. My childhood friend has been the real friend. He'll eventually part ways but that doesn't bother me anymore. Since then, I sort of became somewhat an asshole. I just don't really give a shit who goes or stays anymore. I used to rely on having company to cope with loneliness but I realized that if I can't handle being alone then what I'll do if the next person vanishes again? Now that I spent time alone and became pretty apathetic over time, having company is no longer that sort of necessity for me. It's nice to have company but it's also nice to have time alone to improve myself which I have. If these friends stop contacting me, I won't be bothered by it. If that's what they want, so be it.
