Character Limit

My apologies if this is listed somewhere and I've simply overlooked it, but is there a character or word limit for forum posts? There was one response I typed up that didn't post but disappeared after I did the validation. The same thing happened again when I attempted to retype it. If there is a limit, I'd just like to know what it is, so I can avoid a repeat. I'd also like to know if there could maybe be a way around it, at least for the creative writing section since that would severally limit what one would be able to submit.

Yes, there is a limit, sadly. D: I don't know what the actual limit is, but there is one for forum posts and comments on profiles. D:
