My parents and a lot of my family smoke and I'm not really into it. I've tried it and will smoke if I'm really drunk but never got addicted.

If I ever picked up the hobby I'd go cigars like my father. It has an appeal that vaping and normal cigarettes don't evoke in me. On that subject, cigarettes do harken memories of my grandma. She'd always smoke while I was sitting in her lap as a young kid of about 6 or so. I remember regularly falling asleep in her lap watching the Discovery channel. Smelling her burning cigarette had an oddly calming effect on me. Similar to incense I suppose one could compare. And of course my brother smoked, dad smokes, and many other people around me. I didn't take up the hobby mostly for my mother's sake. She hated the stuff.
