Law or Chaos?

rawrriceball
This is a topic that I have been thinking about. I been playing Shin Megami Tensei 4 and it felt interesting to have a view on that. My question is.. would you risk your life to have order, though it could lead to a dictatorship and elitism? Or.. You would destroy order to have complete freedom in the choices you can make as the entire world sets up for Anarchy. What do you think?

I think an extreme of both is bad. Extremity is never good. SOO! A middle ground would be my answer.

Sounds also what the game Catherine asked (Also an Atlus title.) but more in terms of a relationship. Without chaos there would be no need for law and vice-versa. For example wanting to be a hero is both a terrible and great thing. Wishing one to be a hero would be the same as wishing someone were in potential danger just so you can save them. A hero needs chaos to be relevant; to enforce order. I can't really choose... being a mind-slave of the law sounds so lame. But letting everyone do whatever the hell they want can prove fatal to the evolution of mankind or simply put the lives of those who want peace at risk. Chaos sounds a lot more fun...

Anarchy is always bad, dictatorships are not always bad. So, I would risk my life for order, especially if I become the dictator. The only reason I'd destroy order, is if those who would become empowered would not do the main duty of government, protect it's citizens. In that case, I'd splinter that order until others could take that position of governance. If that means temporary anarchy, so be it.

Neutral, but chaos if I could only pick one.

I'm more of a chaos but with a lil law. Because without chaos, life wouldnt be worth living.

Two sides of the same coin: one can not exist with out the other, and they will both inevitably fall into the other. But, the truth of the matter is that there is way more to this question then meets the eye. Personally, I'd Choose the grey in between.
