another easier method is to have some friends with a big network. just hang out with them and become mutual friends with their friends. by the time you know it your network will be huge and you won't have a hard time getting to know people. just have a wingman and go places together.

Meh, I don't like Wingmen because they can be a 50/50 type thing either they go in and win big for you or they mess it up.. The whole friend thing takes too long. This might end you up in the forever friend zone or they might meet someone else you might miss your chance.
