My friends keep saying I'm afraid of dogs (which is true) and I keep denying it even though its true and they have proof to back it up. But they keep trying to get "deep into my fears" which me no likely. Is it really all that weird =3=

Theres nothing wrong :p. My advice would be to stay small dogs and befriend them and then move onto larger dogs to overcome your fears :)

Actually small dogs tend to be a LOT more intimidating than big dogs. Small dogs always make more noise and try to look more menacing. In any ADR it's not weird, I know a TON of people afraid of dogs. There's phobias for all sorts of stuff, and the whole deal is that they are all illogical fears, no reason behind it we just are. The choice should be yours if you want to overcome it. My phobia is towards bees and spiders

Try meeting a greyhound, they're big but they're calm and friendly, they don't bark often and they're some of the nicest dogs I know.

I can never understand why people are scared but I have 2 large dogs. I would find someo e with a nice calm dog that will let you spend some time so you can feel more confident. Really truely and honestly most dogs are not a threat and you could scruff them if they tried anything which most dogs won't. Its just dogs that are not respected that cause trouble nd often by owners who miss treat them. Shame your not close as one of my girls is very calm and doesn't jump.

"Shun Mitaka" from Maison Ikkoku was also afraid from dogs. Funny how that is portrayed in manga/anime.

The only thing I don't get is why you don't just admit they scare ya. As long as you don't dare to admit it there is no working on it. Besides, your friends would probably scream if they ran into a spider or a snake, its not much different from being scared of dogs so just admit it, they got their fears too, and if its not a creature its something like hight.

I'm once afraid of dogs... I mean.. I got this really big phobia since I was 8.. That was when me and my cousin were being chased by a stray dog and my cousin was bitten in front of me.. xD But now, I'm no longer afraid.. I guess that was when I turned 20.. my mom's friend gave us a puppy.. I tried to befriend it.. until it grew.. and now she's my best friend ^_^
