Furries? Love em' Hate em

wolfterra
I'd like to know what everyone's thoughts on here are about furries. I really don't like the bad rap thevy've gotten over the years.

I always wondered that myself, how did Furries get such a bad "rap". While I'm not much of a furry my self I do appreciate their culture, and wouldn't mind cosplaying in a fur suit.

Mmm, not my cup of tea, but I don't have negative feelings towards it. You like what you like *shrug*

I know a furry. He isn't a bad guy. It's fine to a reasonable extent. I think as long as they're good artists and draw cool shit, then I will deal with it and forever hold my peace. Those crazy stories we've all heard make everyone look bad.

The bad reputation they get probably comes from the same place anime's bad rep comes from. Example: Coworker: "So, you like anime?" Me: "Yeah" Coworker: "Isn't it, like, cartoon porn?" Me: -_- no Some people think furries are just people who are taking zoophilia as far as they can without it being actual zoophilia. I've heard furries talked about as such on at least one tv show. "Furries is when people dress like animals and have a org*" With an explanation like that, no wonder they have a bad reputation. I personally don't care about it. I have seen some really cool furrie outfits and some that are kinda lame. I have two or three friends who really like furries, so, yeah, I don't have anything against them.

Well I am not much a furry either but I think it is alot of the deviant stereotypes they get too due to the nature of alot (not alot) but alot as being fetish and sexual in nature. Heck there is a costume I would love to do that is furry but I do not have talent to make it and never seen one for sale. I want to go as John Talbain From Dark Stalkers. But again I know where the negative came from and will probably never go away but most furries are not like that it is just a stigma.. is kinda like the Otaku Stigma that we all sit around watch Hentai Play video games and have no personal lives.. it just goes with the territory I guess which is sad =(

In the light of all of this, I'm trying to realeasing a fan-based furry game that hopefully will give furries a better rap.

The problem is sick individuals who latch onto a community or ideology that they think means they can get away with their weird, illegal stuff. There's that higher concentration of social deviants in these groups. o.O
