Season 14 starts to click once you see how Patch 3.1.1 connects its activities. The quest Across the Threshold is more than a quick Realmwalker objective; it sets up the route from Ruptures to Chambers, keys, the Reaper, and Mythic crafting. If you are already sorting through seasonal rewards such as Diablo 4 runes, that clearer chain matters because fewer runs now feel like dead time.
What changed in the Mythic chase
The patch did not turn Mythics into handouts, and that is probably for the best. It fixed broken Mythic eligibility on some Unique loot sources, including Lair Bosses, while also raising the chance that a naturally dropped Mythic is Iconic. There is still no published Iconic rate, though, so players should not expect every boss session to pay out. The bigger win is the economy. Deathtoll Chambers at higher Torment now guarantee at least one Superior Lair Key, the Corrupted Reaper can award up to two Pandemonium Fragments, and the repeatable Glints of Hope reward gives one fragment every time.
Clear a Colossal Rupture for a guaranteed Realmwalker.
Use the Realmwalker portal to enter a Deathtoll Chamber.
Farm Chambers for Superior Lair Keys at an efficient Torment level.
Beat the Corrupted Reaper and open the Hoard for fragments.
That order is worth remembering, because players often mix up the Deathtoll Chamber with the Pandemonium Threshold. The Chamber comes from the Realmwalker portal. The Threshold is the Zarbinzet Lair where the Reaper waits. For Across the Threshold, the Colossal Rupture in the Fields of Desecration is the least annoying option. Surging Ruptures can work when completed with Mastery, but their Realmwalker result is chance-based. In the Chamber itself, do not ignore Gravehound orbs if they are heading toward the Exarch. Letting those through can make a simple clear drag on longer than it should.
The Cube recipe now needs four Pandemonium Fragments instead of five, which makes every Reaper run feel more useful. Still, conversion is not a precision craft. You choose the equipment slot through the Unique you submit, but the resulting Mythic is rerolled from that slot's available pool. One-handed weapons, shields, and off-hands are even broader categories. There is also the one-crafted-Mythic limit, so spending fragments just because you have them can backfire. Save them for the slot that actually fixes your build. Players looking to buy diablo 4 runes cheap should keep that same mindset: plan around the build's weakest gap, not just the next shiny upgrade.
