Saw an Instagram reel where a japanese lady was talking about some changes Japan is making to tourism. Stuff like increased prices for tourists. Restrictions and mandatory Visas etc... Anyone heard about this or can confirm this as true?

I have not traveled to Japan myself. I have family that lives in Taiwan and has to travel through Japan to visit the United States. I know they did mention prices were becoming more inflated.
Of course that's a global issue not restricted to just Japan, China, or the United States. Cost of fuel and maintenance for aircraft in general is rising.
Outside of airfare I watched a number of videos from various people living in Japan saying that specific areas of the country were becoming progressively closed off to foreign travelers. There have been frustrations amongst residents about vandalism in historical areas and some influencers picking fights with locals trying to make unnecessary drama.

We managed to go before nuisance streamers became regular. Though, it was after Johnny Samoli got punched in the face. We visited the bar the guy who punched him owns in Osaka. We went to one place that was closed to foriegners. And it wasn't awkward at all. We just apologized and left. No big deal. It's sad they are suffering from over-tourism but after COVID they were more than eager for tourism $$$.
