We are entering a massive technological revolution

@odanobunaga Interesting to see a blog with a man with such a hate boner for AI. Just a bunch of self-important non stop streams of pessimistic rants about everything. There was a world before AI took off, and there is a world we live in now. AI doesn't care if you don't share the AI hype. There were plenty of people who clung to the steam-powered engine until the day the died, too. No problem with that. Sure, AI uses "stolen data", but do you really think that data and ideas weren't stolen before AI? Even in the Renaissance era artists were copying the great works and selling off sketches like they were from the real deal. Yes, AI can be a problem in the creative arts and it needs to be regulated so others don't profit off of straight copying. The benefits of AI aren't just some toy. Almost every field, technical, medical, automotive, etc. has made great strides in the last few years because of it. It's not just simple hype. It's literally progressing to the next technological era of humanity.

Honestly it doesn't feel all that impressive. When they fix all the bugs in the system perhaps. Right now I know computers don't have the critical thinking skills to adapt on a human level. They are heavily dependent on humans to oversee their functions and when it comes to art or writing the machine only knows as much as it's told. Nothing more.

@gabriel_true if you compare what AI does today compared to what it did two years ago it's scary how much better it is. You know that Hamas leader? They had a pin point AI analysis accuracy of this guy's face and the missile literally homed in on him from thousands of miles away. Friggin insane. As consumers I bet we only see the tip of the iceberg.

Of course we do. Understand that nuclear tests are still a big dea and highly classified .... Let that sink in. How much further do you think we truly are? We get the consumers taste.

What I really need is an AI that can correct my mistakes when using a touch screen. Like I accidentally hit the wrong button and it just knows what I meant to press. Alexa, know what I mean?
