Also about the follow god or be sentences to death its the same concept irl. You kill, rape or steal you go to jail. You dont do what is right which is obey and server god you will live out eternity in hell. No one truly knows gods motives for why things are the way they are we only know what he has allowed us to know. It will all make sense in the afterlife.

That, I understand quite well. Though, should we really compare something we cannot truly understand to reality? I think not. If it gives you personally, a better image, then go ahead. I doubt it's the same case. It is compatible, yes, but that's nothing to truth. We go to jail/prison, and are executed based on severity of our crimes. Though it seems God has no qualms using eternal torture as a first resort for any heresy. Even if it means no more than a mere ant means to the man who unknowingly steps on it.

It's not the same, though. Eternal punish because I'm a child that stole a cookie from the cookie jar, die and I don't believe?(I mean, it only took taking a piece of fruit to damn ALL of mankind, right? Not to mention that poor "talking" snake and all of it's kind were cursed because it was possessed by another entity.)*Boom* Instant eternal vacay in hell. I know there's a "loop hole" for kids, even though the bible doesn't really say that's the case. Point being, that wouldn't make sense.
Just because you don't understand something does not mean you shouldn't question it. I do believe MANY in the bible did just that.

But thats the thing questioning god means nothing it does nothing. If you dont believe in god and live out your life partying or however you want it congratulations you just got to live out ur entire life with no restrictions and no care in the world. If you dont believe in god shoot thats two birds one stone. But every action has a consequence and that consequence is eternal suffering. You are being judged and for what purpose i will never know unless i somehow became a being in which i could not fathomly come to perceive. But again we dont know the answer and because humans fear the unknown they long for answers. I feel all the answes are right there but people are vlind to it and simply wanna feel they are superior and know it all. It doesnt make sense to you but that doesnt mean its wrong. People were wrong about the world being cubed and the center of the universe. That was proven wrong, you just dont have the answers and thats ok.

You know if gods so good then why does he make people suffer? If he's so knowledgeable and powerful why does the "devil" exist surely if he's all powerful he could vanquish anything? Life ain't a paradise, but if he's all loving than that's what it should be but it isn't anything close to a paradise. Then to loop back to what asshat said, if he made us according to the bible and knows what one's going to do in life and practically made them to do so, it sounds like he made people just to cast them to hell.
That whole story of Eden is practically discrimination, why should we be subject to things because of what our "ancestors" did? That doesn't sound loving, it just sounds like discarding a broken toy or experiment.

He was kind of a jerk too cause he killed Orpheus for not wanting to join in on his cannibalistic orgy since he viewed it as disrespect

I dunno if we Are heading towards a world without god, it feels like people are realizing how connected we all are, regardless of religion.
I’d like to think we all come here to experience some facet of existence, and it might be possible we’re really all the same person.

I used to consider myself a Christian. I was raised as a Christian, and up until I was 14 I believed in it. Though even as a kid I started to question it due to its inconsistencies, and that questioning grew when I learned about the church’s long history of corruption. Not to mention how many people nowadays take advantage of religion to gain power and influence, so obviously people most likely did it in the past as well which could explain some of these so-called prophets. As of now I have both an optimistic view and a pessimistic theory. The pessimistic theory would be that God doesn’t exist, and everything about religion was made up by ancient people as easy explanations for natural phenomena as well as to gain power and influence over their peers since if anyone disobeyed you could just simply threaten them with eternal damnation. As for my optimistic view and the one I choose to believe is that God does exist, but has never once interacted with humans. I mostly came up with this theory using Christianity as the base taking what I agree with, and ignoring what I don’t agree with. One of the main ideas of Christianity is that we all have free will. I was taught at Church that in order to preserve free will God doesn’t directly interact with us. Yet there have been tons of people in the bible claiming that they did. The smallest interaction with God would basically destroy one of the main principles of Christianity leading me to believe that most if not all of these prophets were liars. Not only that, but some of these people did horrible things and used the name of God to justify it. Moses lied and told his people that God had promised them land there was no land, so he said God allowed them to commit literal genocide so that they can take that land. Not only that, but these people said God allowed things like slavery and inequality. If God does exist I would imagine that they would be a perfect being yet in the Bible he is a jealous toddler who throws tantrums and floods the Earth when things don’t go their way (which is btw a stolen story from the Epic of Gilgamesh). Plus on numerous occasions it was shown that God asked for animal and human sacrifices idk about ya’ll but that isn’t something I believe God would want. Hypothetically lets say these prophets weren’t lying and they really did hear a voice talk to them. It sure as hell isn’t God, but for a moment let's think about who would want these things to happen. Who in the bible has a god complex, is known for human and animal sacrifices, would be thrilled with people committing genocide, allowing slavery, is a known liar, has human flaws such as jealousy, is easily angered, has no problems murdering humans, and all at the same time claim it to be on behalf of God? God is above human emotions. If God exists their role would probably be creating everything, and therefore they already know all that has happened and all that will happen, however, since free will exists it most likely resembles a tree with branching paths since one small action could potentially change everything their involvement would probably make everything 100x more difficult. Some of the values besides free will that I believe to be true would be obvious things like being kind to everyone and treating them with respect ya know don’t intentionally go out of your way to harm people, and lend help if they need it. I also don’t think you should idolize anyone since it's technically your choice to follow whoever you want to follow, but if you idolize someone enough you’ll do things you normally wouldn’t do if they told you to do it. That one feels more like a suggestion though since again it is still technically your choice, but it's better to think for yourself rather than blindly follow someone just because they shared a couple of the same opinions. If I’m wrong and God is that thing from the bible that isn’t someone I want to follow. Panda said questioning God does nothing and means nothing, and that’s probably the mindset these “prophets” might have had when they said these things, and proclaimed that God had a plan. They probably didn’t expect it to go on for this long, but because it has we get to see the aftermath of their actions. Entire civilizations of people wiped out. A long history of corruption and greed in the Church. Wars are still being fought over land that most likely wasn’t even promised in the first place. Yet God has done nothing, so I think questioning it adds value since if God won’t do anything we should probably step in and solve our own problems. I want to believe God exists, but I also acknowledge that they might not exist either, and if it's the God from the bible I'd rather just get zapped into nothingness than go to heaven with them. I could have gone into a lot more detail, but it’s late and I didn’t feel like whipping out my bible to look for direct quotes, nor did I feel like going over how corrupt the church is. I actually have experienced the Church’s corruption irl. I also had a bunch of other ideas I could have added that expanded on my beliefs, but I’m tired so i sleep now
