Religious rants

I used to be the same way i believed in God and was hardcore Christian for a while before abandoning all religion because i felt the churches were corrupt and every religion was basically the same and kt sort of divided us to have a label placed on it. So i stayed in limbo just worshipping god and at many times i got angry and questioned alot. But that was just the devil wanting to make me question the legitimacy of god. Question the bible and the church and the people and accept that i can live my life the way i always have and be ok. Everyone can believe what they want to believe, there is a god, there is no god, there god isnt the same god whatever. But i dont think any of those are the answer. Religion has existed and survived centuries literally years and years. Including the bible and to pick apart your argument of people using it to hold power well as years went on that has kind of become obsolete. Just kind of died out people dont use it for power infact religion has been kind of rejected by society as time goes on. Being religious is literally unpopular even on here look at how many people are against it rather than for it. There is something to be said about doctrine that has survived so long despite countless empires and countries and dictators whk hated it the bible literally recounts how they were being persecuted for Christianity. So on and so forth yet it has survived. As far as the sacrifices and stuff of that nature i believe that is the work of an angel that is responsible for tempting humans in order to judge them i forgot the name of that angel but the story where sokeone from the bible had to sacrifice his own son im really drawing a blank here but i think that was his doing. He was the one who asked god to do it. I mean at the end of the day everyone will believe what they will but i feel like thelis generation and society today are turning their backs on god more and more i just hope and oray you guys get back on the right track before its too late. When all the Christians are proven right then people will try and switch sides.

It hasn't become obsolete since the pope is still in a position of power and growing up in an extremely religious community i saw how the pastors would take advantage of people who were desperate in order to make more money ergo they use their position of power and influence for profit. Plus you're also contradicting yourself since you're saying it's lasted this long but you're also saying it's been slowly dying out and even then a belief lasting a long time doesn't necessarily mean it's true. Some people still believe that the Earth is flat which is a belief that has been around about as long as the bible since it states, “Keep listening to the thunder of his voice and the rumbling that comes from his mouth. Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth” (Job 37:2–3, ESV). and it is mentioned in multiple passages that the Earth has corners. Once again this belief also has longevity it's even in the bible, but it has proven to be false nonetheless since the Earth isn't flat. The argument religion has going for it is that you can't necessarily disprove or prove the existence of God since we wouldn't know what to look for in order to prove or disprove it, however, you can disprove some of the Bible's stories. Noah's ark for example is a stolen story from an older text of what's considered mankind's oldest hero Gilgamesh, and you're talking about how God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son but stopped him last minute to prove his loyalty while I'm talking more about the fact that they would sacrifice animals to him for protection and to be closer to God at some point though I believe that's only an old testament thing rather than a new testament thing which sure maybe that instance could have been that angel but every other instance just seems like cultist and blood thirsty behavior

It only says "Angel of the Lord" and that was the story of Abraham and his son Isaac. Kind of shitty to put your "servant" through that as a "test", especially when you supposedly already know his heart before putting him through unnecessary pain just to prove a point. The angel tempted no one,it was sent to stop the sacrifice. The "angel" who asked God about tempting one of his servants was the story of Job and that was Satan . You know, the one where he literally lost everything, kids, riches... everything... But, it was all cool since he got new kids in the end and didn't lose his faith? Also, kinda weird how Satan has to ask permission to try to mess with God, huh? And how God is almost trying to prove a point to Satan, too despite him again not needing to? But, I digress... Old testament Satan was different, yo. Oy vey! MANY much older doctrines have survived until this day. What's that say about them? Faith should never be a insurance policy...EVER. Otherwise? It's pointless. Narrow is the path... Many will come saying "Lord lord, I knew you!" and I will say to them "Be gone for i knew you not.." And what if Christianity is wrong? Prove it is isn't without being an apple jax Christian. Again, faith is not an insurance policy. I say those things to make you think a little.

If Christianity is wrong then when you die you go no where you just cease to exist and you wont even know it, unless ofc you believe in reincarnation. So even if somehow i was wrong you or me will never know because neither of us can tell each other the outcome. If i was right about Christianity those who said im wrong according to Christianity's standards will probably go to hell unless they repent. If im wrong then neither of us will know because you wont be able to tell ur just dead and cease to exist. Reincarnation would mean this never happened for you. Also for the contradiction im saying that religion as a whole used to be widely practiced and would be the reason for lots of events taking place in the world for example the salem witch trials and crusades and all that religion used to be the forefront of a nation. While i get these instances were used in a negative light it doesnt change the fact religion was more widely accepted than it is now. When i say its dying out alot of this generation have been exposed to more satanic and paganistic values. For example because religion talks about how being gay and trans and stuff is a sin. The youth today see Christianity as a hate group because its not inclusive. There is alot of push back by society and rejection of religion and more of a embrace for sexual liberation and sinful practices. The pope and stuff like i said catholicism to me is evil, maybe at one point it meant something but i forgot which one of the popes was literally the most evil pope to exist he did a bunch of nasty stuff during his time as pope. Even the current pope is blasphemous. But bad actors will walways take advantage of those while they can that is not exclusive to religion, politics do the same and thats why these two are so controversial. There are always evil hands pulling strings amongst a group of good. You didnt necessarily need god to rule over a nation in the past so this statement was false many nations existsed to get rid of religion and make their king worshiped as god.

Also since when is saying the corners of the earth confirming it was flat? Isnt that a metaphor used even post spherical discovery. Also in the bible didnt it say the world was NOT the center of the universe or flat at all. Again i really wish i knew the actual passages to bring these up but again im still new but other pastors have spoken on this and i can link videos where they have references.

Ah, your faith IS an insurance policy. Ok. Fair enough, I suppose. I just like to see where people are coming from with this kind of stuff, it gives you a better understanding of their footing. I do wonder... Of ALL of the sins (Any deviation from gods way are just as bad in God's eyes. Right?), why does it seem homosexuality (Not new, not worse, not more widely accepted than in other eras, not rape, not forced and not unique to humans by a long shot.)is such an issue when I can think of literally a thousand much MUUUUCH worse things that hardly get mentioned, even in a church? Makes me laugh... I grew up southern Baptist, being glutinous and not taking care of your Temple (Your body.) is a sin, but I'll be damned if every preaching wasn't portly and we had the best food from the little old ladies after service.lol

My faith is not an insurance policy i was just going based off your argument, because you were saying what if im wrong and i humored you. Ofc im not wrong because god does exist and i know this for fact. Also you cant tell me homosexuality hasnt gotten worse because you literally will get cancelled and have your livelihood stripped from you where 10 years prior it wasnt the case. You also cant say trans stuff hasnt gotten worse because now its being taught in schools when before it wasnt. But again these are examples, there are those who dont agree with religion from that aspect, those who also believe god lets people suffer so he cant exist, those who believe Christianity and religion are bad because it was forced on them by parents. Etc.

Homosexuality being a sin wasn't even in the original text the bible is derived from it was closer to pedophilia further supported by Matthew 18:6 stating,"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea." While homosexuality was only briefly mentioned a couple of times stating that a guy must not sleep with another guy as they do with women because it's an abomination and even then it's most likely that a sexist homophobic guy tampered with the bible since it says absolutely nothing about women being involved with other women. As for trans eventually technology will reach the point where it'll be biologically possible to alter that completely so there's that. 10 years ago it wasn't the case, but 10 years ago it was barely made legal to marry someone of the same sex and people were terrified to come out so obviously making it legal is going to increase the amount of people coming out as gay, and no one can say that they know God exists for a fact and completely base it off faith since that's not evidence. I believe that God exists but I'm not ignorant enough to say my way is the only way when there isn't all that much evidence to prove nor disprove it

"I believe that God exists but I'm not ignorant enough to say my way is the only way when there isn't all that much evidence to prove nor disprove it" I concur with that. However, I'd insert "a"(For me, personally.) before God, just to differentiate from El.
