Jan 6th isnt the same thing. Its not even close, and alot of those people went to jail. Some just for being there, they didnt even go inside they were just there. Disproportionate punishment for a minor crime. However, as i said not all the people there deserve this war. But same can be said for the israelites, those people in their villages didnt deserve to be murdered. They probably never even touched a Palestinian in their life. You probably would have never seen anything like today come from israel if it wasnt started by terrorists. Notice how the government didnt claim war on Palestinians or on Gaza they declared war on hamas. Now i cant guarantee we wont see the same stuff coming from israel now that those soldiers witnessed what they witnessed. Some people are probably extremely angry. But im telling you this is the culture of whats going on rn. I bet we will see lebanon and syria join the mix with iran. Its basically a bunch of people fighting back against genocide. A group of people that has already faced one genocide. This is the whole reason why they are even there.

The Palestinians have every right to be angry against war crimes commited against it. However, in Gaza they are housing a terrorist organization who's charter calls for the obliteration and genocide of all Jews. There is no middle ground or grey area for them.
Citing from the Hamas charter:
According to the charter, Jewish people "have only negative traits and are presented as planning to take over the world."
They also have done unspeakable things to women, children, and babies. Keep in mind, the people of Gaza have had an absolute surge in support for this radical terrorist group.
Israel has tried differing methods to deal with them over the years but everything has been unsuccessful. I believe they are reading for a scorched earth approach. This rally into Gaza will not be like a US led one. It will be absolutely brutal for civilians and Hamas alike. The US has warships on the coast because we hope that by just being there will prevent other terrorists groups from rallying in the north and causing even more bloodshead.
Unfortunately try as we might even back to the Bill Clinton years, nothing has worked to bring stability to the Middle East. I'm hoping as the US we can try to deter the most bloodshed as possible without getting directly involved.

There is no support for Hamas from me, they did what they did and they believe some horrific stuff. I'm not blindly supporting Israel either, they keep getting away with illegal stuff and I don't think it's right for people to turn a blind eye to it. Especially the country I pay taxes in. They helped form the rules of engagement that is enforced currently and if they truly believe what they wrote is wrong to do, it should be wrong for us and our allies to do as well as our enemies. Neither side is blameless and I'm horrified when people act like anything is justifiable despite the rules. If you're ok with it happening to them now, I'll always suspect you'll be ok with them doing it to me or others later. My intent here this afternoon was to point out some of the cognitive dissonance in your stance. Things like "We need to support Israel after what just happened" without looking at what lead up to it or taking a stand against Israel doing war crimes in return. Or claiming actions by a group counts as a culture for the entire country (the actual point of my Jan. 6th comment). Or how willing you are to condemn war crimes against your side but downplay them from your side. Or (seemingly) thinking war crimes is just a phrase for politics without real meaning or consequence, despite our country being one of the many that came up with what constitutes a war crime, why and it's consequences. I haven't just been throwing pasta at the wall and seeing what sticks, each of my replies have been based on your own words. It might be worth looking into some of this stuff more, before taking such a strong stance.

He's got a religious stance, hence it being on this thread. Sooooo.... Because the Bible tells me so!
Heinous acts, regardless and I'm by no means defending that in the least. Just is what it is.
Hehe... even trump made sure to include "evangelical Christians"(Got a point in mentioning that, I do
), for whom he stood and of course how he'd be the best president to deal with this.lol Meh... A bit of a tangent.lol

Well no palestine has been trying to drive the israelites out of their land since they first were introduced after the holocaust. You can say that yeah israel did this and that. But i dont necessarily believe they started this conflict, even leading up to the attack by hamas. I even read a BBC article just now regarding the history, and im correct, it doesnt say anything about israel attacking palestine. But i do see stuff like palestine voting in hamas in the early 2000s but the yom Kippur war happened before that and now we see more deaths than even that war in oike the 5 days since this took place.
I am saying i dont agree with innocents dying, but i dont believe this is an issue that will be solved through proportionality. Israel will seek vengeance and this will lead to other islamic states rising up to attack. It doesnt matter what the US presence is. Now i gotta watch what i say, but i know the laws of war exist. But as we have even seen in ukraine vs russia both sides do war crimes. In WW2 all countries did war crimes. Raping women and killing children even then. Im just saying it happens, yes we have rules for a reason, but we have groups of people using childrens hospitals and schools and stuff as a shield and making things to harm the other side knowing they wont attack that spot.what does that tell you about these people? They are savages. They dont care if women and children get hurt, they use them as shields. Thats my point, people are dying from war crimes because they have chosen to use them as shields.

People just lack logical thinking. The israelites fresh out of the holocaust gets placed in palestine and just starts torturing the Palestinians. Thats why britain had to split the two effectively creating the nation of israel. Makes total sense, but i have a religious stance, therefore im condemning one side because of religious reasons. Totally it. Do i believe Israel deserves this? No, i also dont believe palestine deserves to be leveled but it will happen and thats because of hamas. But Palestinians also agree with hamas to a degree. There isnt a religion bias, but seeing what happened to a bunch of innocent people is infuriating. If anything israel will be used to carry out God's plan how can i be angry? This leads to Jesus's return, i believe in the bible so i know this is going to happen. This isnt a religious bias. Its just the anger of seeing people side with evil. Call israel evil if you want, no one is perfect. Nothing makes nothing justified but with people seemingly being ok with whats going on even here in the US. This is bringing awareness, its on the world stage and you can see it. But i dont expect anyone to side with me.

That video I shared, were you able to watch it to the end? Mike goes over some of what you were just talking about between 15:55 and about 26:48. (All citations are in the video description)
@Yaasshat I think it's unfair to boil his whole stance down to just a religious one. His stance has been much more nuanced than "Because God says so" (went with the big G there because of the quotations sorry if it was in some way wrong to do so, I'll edit it if it is). As frustrating as it is for me to say, even that is a valid stance. I obviously would hope people thought about it a little more than that or at the very least ask religious elders or scholars if there was any nuance in the reading of those passages before taking that stance, but yeah, I'd never fault a person for following their faith.

I'm going to stop pushing on this topic now (I'll reply if you directly speak to me or something), I made the point I came to make a while ago and I'm not trying to make you feel uncomfortable in your space (That honestly wasn't the point of my comments here).

@twobananasshypfapumpkinpie nah man its a space for everyone ofc. Its not strickly for me, i dont own this site. But yeahi havent seen all the video, and tbf i have seen videos of israeli police beating Palestinians outside because they were doing something i dont remember what. But to chalk up the whole invasion to these guys did this, which is the main retorhic that people have been spouting online. Its completely false, but israel in its attempt to eradicate hamas will cause nations to clash with them. This is where the religious aspect comes in. Thats my stance, but thank you for sharing your insight.
