Things that you like that nobody else likes

I enjoy spending a quiet time with people. That moment where nothing is said, but it's felt. As a younger person I hated it. Thought it was cutting into my video game and anime watching time. Yet, I remember those memories with a greater appreciation the older I become. Unfortunately that's considered cringe these days. If it was ever properly appreciated at all.

Not alone time, it's being in the presence of people, but not having to explicitly state how one feels in any given moment. It's simply understood. That's what I enjoy. For example. Sitting down at a table to eat with another person. No one is talking. Just eating. It's in this otherwise dull action that I personally find peace. It could also be because I grew up with a mother that would force my father and I into a conversation only for her to not enjoy our responses. Then asking us to shut up before leaving from the table to watch television until 3 in the morning with the volume at max.

Both can be one and the same. It's all in how you perceive things. However, one true test of sorts as far as partners goes is this, you should be able to thoroughly enjoy being silent in each other's presence as conversing. Thier presence is present enough in the present.;P

Me and my sister had the exact same feeling with our childhood friends. I said it before in a thread of mine but we always wondered why they’d come back over when all we did was sit there XD. We’d talk about clouds or the weather like old people and then just sit in silence leaning on each other, but those are some of the moments I remembered best with them. ^-^

Video game music and techno. Most people are like, "Where are the lyrics?" and rather listen to hiphop and metal. People like me say, "You don't have to always have lyrics!"
