I stopped looking for someone to hold my hand or someone to call my own. But then I met you and I thought you would change my mind. But you showed me you cant be patient and you can't be kind. When you look at me, I see no love in your eyes. With that, I need not convince my heart that you don’t care. There is no point convincing my mind that maybe deep down there could be something. Deep in my spirit, I know it is telling me that loving someone and finding them extraordinary will not be enough. I guess I will carry these doubts and fears for now. Someday, somewhere, someone might actually stay and will show patience. Someone who will gently hold me and whisper in my ears, “don't worry, everything will work out this time” and when I look back into his eyes, I will finally start to believe. And then my doubts and fears will eventually leave, and I'll eventually learn to love and let myself be loved, and by that time I won't be changing my mind. ~
