No I didn't come up with it myself. A group of classmates in middle school thought it would be funny to spread rumors I was in a death metal band. That rumor followed me to college where a hilarious misunderstanding occurred when an old classmate ran into me hanging with my college friends and yelled from across the mall, "Yo Death Blade! Where ya been since graduation?" The people I hung out with at the time thinking I had ACTUALLY DONE SOMETHING to earn the name spread rumors of their own.
