I started from $7 an hour in poverty homeless with my mom taking care of her. So if I had to say what needs to change it should be education opportunities and federal financial help for families who have lost homes to disasters or divorce etc. Let's say I got an all paid for opportunity to attend college and my mom is well taken care of l, then I would not have anything to stress over and by the time So graduate with my degree I can take care of her properly.

Idk about you but in florida you can find plenty of jobs that dont pay $7.00 and sometimes upward of 10-15 and still have to live with your parents. What is stopping people from raising the price to match?

As much as i want to say people should have livable wages, i also think compensation should be purely skill and merit based.. what motivation do people have to be engineers or dental workers or burger flippers are close to their salary by like $5 an hour lmao.

Yes. Exactly. Offer trade schooling opportunities too for lower classed families who struggle.

why should the government be expected to take care of these people when wages have stagnated but the price of goods and housing hasn't? that's the source of the issue, things cost more but people make the same as they did years ago

according to
https://www.epi.org/publication/charting-wage-stagnation/
wage compensation should be 18k minimum if it continued with the trend of productivity output

@momoichi I don't like the reservations either. Since they are federal land it's very hard for businesses to open. Many of them are overrun with beer shops which some have called it "liquid genocide" there is reservation land that still doesn't have electricity and plumbing.
On the other hand their are mixed opinions on them since it's still land those communities have. the acres belong to multiple people due to previous generations dividing land among families. It does also provide a personal place for their customs that other people can't butt into since you need permission to enter them.
The federal government really should improve the conditions there for a start then go from there.

Yeah if the government really wants to help then offer school opportunities to those that need it raising national minimum wage i promise you will only make people match the increase.

i dont see the issue with incrimentally raising minimum wage each year so that businesses can compensate, and businesses like Walmart and amazon have to start with the 15 minimum wage immediately
it only seems logical that the more people are paid the more goods go up and the more stores make so they can pay their workers more
wages use to go up this way in the past before they stagnated

Or better yet why pay $15 to 25 people when you can get 10 to do it for the price of those 25.
