@momoichi my understanding about CRT is that the issue on what's taught in history is adjacent to the CRT discussions, but CRT itself self isn't does not say anything about what should be taught in history.

The subject is fine. It's the system that fails to FULLY educate the children in history. Alot of kids don't even know who Plato is.

thats a good point, snek. there should be a philosophy class (that isn't just an optional extracurricular) but i wonder if they would just give the simplified versions of these people and their ideas, and not the full gritty existential point to them. that would suck and pretty much be pointless then.

Sure. Without getting into the specifics CRT is an ideology centered around race. The issue you hear about on the news about what's taught in history classes is a discussion that arose in the context of CRT by people that I do not believe actually understand what CRT is. I'm all for making that kind of education at least accessible. CRT on the other hand I find troublesome.

Isn't CRT the subject that teaches white people to feel guilty for their ancestors mistakes? Because I disagree. I didn't do shit to anyone.

leftists that express white guilt is just virtue signally. this stuff happened hundreds of years ago by people that probably arent even related to most living people. dont blame the son for the sins of the father, basically. i dont blame men for the misogyny of the past, that just doesnt make sense. there are leftists that do express white guilt, but i refuse to think they really feel that way, its just moral posturing about how empathetic they are. but, systemically, there are still modern day effects of past racism. generational wealth, ghettos, and systemic racism is still at play together, and those are ripple effects from our racist past. anyways, like i said, i dont know much about crt, but to not teach in general the real history of slavery is to take away the achievements of people like mlk, rosa parks, Frederick dougless, and harriet tubmen (i have very little knowledge about black historical figures xD those are the only ones i can think of sorry)
