@sparkis Yes. XD they have artificial form of consciousness which is very different from our consciousness. But, I'll also have a hard time calling it consciousness too. Other than that, I quote agree that they have their own form it, but it cannot be related consciousness in general.

Learning and improving is a part of consciousness as well. You are conscious about the mistake you make and learn to improve.

Robot has consciousness ->no Atom -> no Sensor ->no Awareness of environment is NOT consciousness. In that case thigmotropic plants, (plants which respond to touch stimulus. eg. Tendrils of pea coil around a surface in response to a touch stimulus) would also then be as conscious as a human. In my opinion, awareness is our knowledge about our surroundings, or how we perceive events. Consciousness would be awareness about oneself, physically and mentally. Now about A.I., they do have the ability and intelligence to perform certain tasks based on how they interpret the result from past events, but they can only be called to be conscious if they start to think about themselves, and shape their decisions and actions depending on those thoughts.
