Well and think of it like this. Parents cross over illegally, have child in the US. The child US citizen qualifies for all kinds of assistance, but chances are the parent/parents are working under the table and not paying taxes. Taxes which would then go to the government to fund those social programs that are helping their natural-born US citizen child. There's a reason why the government wants people to come in through the proper channels and my guess is it has to do with monies.

That's why the Supreme Court rejected when Trump tried to remove it and like the child mentality he has he just made it difficult for the recipients to keep DACA by making it more expensive and ny shortening how many times you have to renew it I believe the original was like every 4 years but Trump cut that in half but then the Supreme Court said no and made him restore it completely
