You see, media has messed up a lot of different concepts everywhere and one that is been seen a lot lately is that women should rise up, empower themselves and stood on the pinnacle of supremacy, this would all be fine and dandy if it weren't for the fact that the opposite gender is frowned upon for trying anything as such nowadays. At least on the company where I work, men are forbidden from "just approaching women" if they have no business with them, but women are free to approach men even if there's no reason for them to do so. So men kind of curl up and do as told, this is a very huge ass story that I've been paying attention to at my workplace but the long story short is, men have been progressively been stripped of their capability to take the initiative, fundamentally making them less manly and more prone to be serviceable and suck up to others to avoid confrontations. I think this is partially reflected on society, and thus, Simps* are seen as such as a result of the degrading balance of power

@swadian I agree in part. Men have become scared. This isn't just about emancipation. It's also about the fact that men have been abusing powers and now some really big and powerful men have been brought to their knees. As a result, ordinary men now start to question their behaviour and are more cautious. In some cases that might be a good thing. However, taking initiative and being manly are not the same thing. It's an assumption just like thinking that Lego is for boys and Barbie is for girls. A woman can take initiative and the man can still be masculine. Furthermore, some men don't like being masculine and some women don't like men to be masculine. That's fine too. So many problems in society are about one group judging and persecuting another, yet dongle many people are still gleeful whenever an opportunity presents itself to do just that
