To play devils advocate, covid-like viruses have been studied for years prior, as well as mrna vaccine methods. Sure theres unknowns, but thats how medicine has been since inception.. This isnt some alien disease new to humanity and these arent methods made up over night. I definitely agree that simulations trials to push clinical trial data is not good.. Its in everyones best interest to not push something out that would end up killing more people than it saves or than covid would have already killed.

Ofc the virus itself isnt alien, and they have been working on a vaccine against such viruses. Thats how this one was made so fast. Yet here is the main outlier that dismantles that argument. The delta variant. The delta variant proves we arent well equipped for this virus. All that previously study bs means nothing when our only response to its mutation is "well it wont kill you but you can still get it" there is another variant out there beyond delta. Idk what its called yet but i have been hearing rumors. Its the same as the UK variant, which im sure is dubbed delta now because that was a raging concern earlier this year.

I mean i as much as anyone want a solution to this pandemic. But i also know that we cant always trust what people tell us. We have been lied to in the past and this whole CDC/vaccine stuff has left a bad taste in my mouth. Just seeing how much the government ACTUALLY cares when i was able to fly on a plane without so much as a scan of the forehead for temperature shows me they dont take this serious. So my question is why do we need the vaccine then?
Edit: there also werent any thermal cameras, i was in UAE at the start of the pandemic and they had some there. Ik what they look like and there were none around. So im 100% confident i wasnt checked for symptoms at all.

The virus moves too fast.. its moving and mutating so fast that when you consider the exponential numbers, once a variant is identified, its pretty much too late. Best we can hope for is the virus moves so fast it burns itself out. Flattening the curve helped with the hospitals but also probably helped give time for the virus to evolve. At least this vax offers a bit higher chance of not catching the new one. And again, even as corrupt as our govt is, its in their best interest to keep us alive. higher GDP etc.

Well i cant blame them if the virus is moving too fast, but this is their job though. Their job is to protect the people. You do so by being proactive instead of reactive. I already knew the vaccine didnt work against the "delta variant" because they said so about the "UK variant" which is why i believe they are the same. But somewhere along the line they started saying it works against it right around the time they probably switched the names. Then as cases still popped up they came out saying ok it doesnt work but at least you wont die.

I think the biggest disconnect isnt so much the vaccines but that they said you can stop wearing masks and social distance once vaccinated. They incentivized vaccination and its backfiring now.

All RNA viruses will mutate quickly. They're only limited by how effectively they can spread. It established itself. Selection should keep it from naturally burning out. I don't think we'll see it burn itself out with the scale it's at. There are too many opportunities for mutations that might make it more efficient at averting our immune responses.

I agree, the scale and sheer size of its spread will allow it to have multiple chances to mutate. As we have seen it has mutated 3 times in a single year. So things like climate, ecosystem and different immune systems will play a key factor here.
We gotta also remember, our immune systems here in america are much different than people in mexico, and theirs is much different than people from africa or Australia. If their variant gets to us it could be more contagious or affect our bodies differently, or potentially mutate. Thats what makes this thing more tricky than just a vaccinate and move on. Its just gonna be like the flu imo.

I'd be less concerned if it turned out to be seasonal like the flu. It's a bit hard to be certain at the moment because of the musical chairs with mask policy, variants, lock down, etc. Too many variables have been changing that invite uncertainty.

Apparently isreal just proved the 3rd shot is effective at preventing infection. So get ready for a 3rd wave if shots guys.
