Somali and the Forest Spirit is best anime of all time!

I personally haven't read the manga myself, but the first episode was screaming at my RPG Player/GM instincts to explore. The way the first episode goes about exposition is also great, as it doesn't feel like someone is forcefully spooning it into my mouth. And their casting for the golem is perfect due to the robotic yet biological feel to the voice and character.

Glad I am not the only one that appreciates the subtle ambience and cadence of the characters' expressions. Hope episode 2 keeps up the high quality!

I watched the second episode of Somali and the Earth Spirit with glee finding the newest members of the cast a blast! The softness in tone of Shizuno's voice as well as the gentle kind-hearted assistant Yabashira were refreshing to hear. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/somaliandtheforestspirit/images/7/71/Shizuno.jpg https://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire2/d5958abfa7eb8db653ce1281a8c6dccc1560622800_full.jpg I dig a story that doesn't have to pressure a narrative to become action packed when the world can be so affluent in its setting and side cast. The fact that lesser characters can say so much with little effort is a blessing!

I am glad that this show isn't afraid to lean hard on dark subject matter when it is appropriate. Gives the series a nice shade of tones from the usual happy colorful layers. Feel bad for Uzoi too. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/somaliandtheforestspirit/images/b/b2/Uzoi.jpg On another note, I watched the English dub of the show and for the first time I can say I can only stand to watch it in Japanese! Sure I don't speak the language, but the characers' voices fit way better than hearing a middle-aged woman try to voice Somali. Like little girl with the voice of a 40 year old. Yusuke's english voice actor or someone sounding like the actor from Yu Yu Hakusho sounds way off for me for the Golem. To put it this way, I could just be attached to hearing the characters in their native tongue now but yeeesh is the English miscast or what!?

I tend to wait until a few episodes are out and then start watching an anime to make sure it's good but reading this makes me want to start now!

I am happy to help spread the word about the show. Seems like one that will only get modest fame, but I love the story telling and setting.
