@Lamby, this exact situation kept me from doing myself in. Also I think we have the same cat o.0 @Lee I think it's more like learning how to live alone. The overall goal is happiness is it not? Or is the goal to be with someone?

Lee, You're kidding, right? For every word of encouragement, you give a negative. Don't seek to survive, seek to live. You want reasons to live? Well, in all seriousness, you're like a fart in the wind to most who bothered posting here. So what does that mean? You are a passing thing on a website that claims community and will likely be forgotten just as quickly as you were noticed. In other words, you can't depend on any one else other than yourself to obtain fulfillment. If you're truly this pessimistic about life, maybe you should seek out a good therapist and find the tools that you NEED to live life. Truth is, no one is guaranteed happiness. There is no "You'll find someone someday." for everyone. You know what there is before there's another in your life? You. Find yourself. Get out, get motivated by faking it, be the change you want to see, grow for your future self AND for what you want out of life. There are people who are MUCH worse off than you and guess what? They find reasons to live.

Melk, That's still motivation. You found something worth living for that I'm sure brings you pleasure and in turn gives you something to give back to those around you. Keep that up no matter what life may bring you. :)

I vote that everything yaasshat says has to end with "..ya ass-hat." You have to find happiness and be the change you want to see, ya ass-hat.
